Who We Work With

At Recovery For Life we say that we work with folks who have “hurts, habits, and hang-ups”that are causing issues in their lives. By that definition, virtually everybody qualifies! Some have more significant issues than others but attitude is the real key to whether or not Recovery For Life is for you.

Are you ready to face and deal with the issue that is causing pain in your life?

Is the pain of working on your issue at Recovery For Life Northwest less than the pain you are in?

If you answered “yes”, Recovery For Life is for you. Fellow strugglers will surround you and you will receive unconditional love and acceptance. Your leaders who facilitate the groups have similar hurts, habits, and hang-ups and understand what you are going through.

Over the years Twelve Step groups have been formed to address almost any issue you can imagine. It all started with Alcoholics Anonymous. The spouses of alcoholics quickly discovered they had special needs and so Alanon was created. On this page there are links to other pages giving detailed descriptions of some of the issues. Those pages may help you identify your issue.

In each separate issue there is a different presenting problem—alcohol, drugs, sex, codependency, food, work, and so on. But as Keith Miller says in Compelled to Control , they are all the same problem. He calls it “the sin disease” or “the control disease”. The symptom is putting yourself in God’s place…in the center, in the driver’s seat. Until you are ready to yield and submit to God and allow Him to be at the center of your life, you will continue to struggle.

If you have read this far, you are no doubt dealing with pain that is making your life difficult. There is hope….come to Recovery For Life Northwest Thursday night! And not just once, come at least 3 times before you decide if Recovery For Life is for you. You won’t be disappointed.
